I went to Repair & Share Fest and it's better than Tomorrowland

I lived for about 20 year in the beautiful city of Ghent. One of the most iconic places in Ghent is, in local dialect, 't Zuid. This is a busy square with a similarly named shopping mall and an iconic, huge library. This library brings back many great memories for me. It's the place where I spent a lot of time as a kid reading books, as a teenager meeting up with friends, and later as a young adult studying for college exams. When I heard the library would be renovated, I felt sad but also excited to see what it would become.

I'm so happy with the result. It has transformed in… a vibrant cultural center called NEST! Here we find creative pop-ups, start-ups, and interesting events. Last weekend, I went to one of these events: Repair & Share Fest. This event showed me a glimpse into our future. A future where our lifestyle doesn't compromise between comfort and nature. Where locals come together and where sharing, repairing, and upcycling become the norm again. I left the Fest feeling full of energy, inspiration and excitement!

I vlogged my visit to the Repair & Share Fest. Take a look for yourself! And don’t forget to subscribe, like & comment for more vlog content!
